Professor Brian Cox takes scientific explanation to a new, swearier, level

On the day the large Hadron Collider was switched on again and started producing some of the world’s most expensive (but not very good) spirograph pictures we thought we should celebrate science somehow. Please note, there is some (well perhaps a lot) of swearing in the video and that is not something we normally approve of at all but if you can cope with that, carry on.

So we want to salute Professor Brian Cox and his eternal quest to understand the universe, popularise physics and get people to understand science. Anyone, when interviewed about the possibility of the Large Hadron Collider being switched on and causing a black hole, who says, “Anyone who thinks the LHC will destroy the world is a twat.” Daily Telegraph, is OK by us.

The Wonders of the Solar System series is simply genius television and has kept us glued to the box on Sunday evening. Don’t worry if you have missed it, here, in just three minutes, you get the whole series without all the detailed scientific explanation. Just don’t blame me if he seems to have developed a potty mouth. You have been warned. Enjoy.
