For over half a century Scotland has consistently demonstrated global leadership in Computer Science research, with our research cluster rivaling Boston, Pittsburgh, Kyoto and Silicon Valley. Informatics in Edinburgh is confirmed as the best Computer Science department in the United Kingdom and one of Europe’s largest research centres. But despite this thought leadership, Scotland has never produced a global software company of scale. Informatics Ventures is ambitiously trying to change this through nurturing an entrepreneurial ecosystem where positive attitudes, skills and networks thrive. Informatics Ventures is a partnership of the University of Edinburgh, Scottish Enterprise and the European Regional Development Fund.
