Fear of flying? This is strangely reassuring.

While my rational side knows that flying is relatively safe, whenever I step onto a plane I can’t help feeling that in fact, aeroplanes defy all the known laws of physics. Then as you taxi down the runway there is a bump or a jerk or a grind that you haven’t felt before and your mind starts to wander. Moments after take off the plane banks and I find myself worrying the plane is outside the acceptable safety envelope.

This video of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner being prepared for the Farnborough Air Show is rather reassuring then.

Someone pointed out recently that no matter how many steps and lengths that you go to to keep your email secure and away from the threat of corporate snooping and worse by free email providers, it doesn’t really matter because any email correspondence that you have is likely to be with people that use gmail or similar solutions and so the correspondent’s email will be in the system regardless of what you have done to protect yourself.
